Because they can address an array of conditions without negative side effects, cannabis-infused topicals are touted by many as a new miracle cure. But they’re hardly new. Though a relative novelty in today’s marketplace, they’re actually based on decades- and centuries-old concoctions, many of which were widely used in the U.S. until the 1930s, when cannabis was demonized and criminalized.

“We’re actually reintroducing cannabis topicals. We’re taking things that have always been used as medicine and giving them a modern spin,” says James Kennedy, founder of Colorado topical company Zimmermann Berry Print Ruffled Dress Multicolour 2MfOXT
. Kennedy’s company honors the tenets of traditional plant medicine by sourcing organic and wildcrafted ingredients and creating their formulations from native plants and therapeutic-grade essential oils. At the same time, Apothecanna stays on the cutting edge of plant science and savvy branding. This combination of age-old wisdom and innovative technology has enabled the topicals category to become one of the fastest growing in cannabis.

But these products weren’t always such an easy sell. Kennedy was initially met with an “if it doesn’t get you high, what’s the point” mentality from dispensaries when he introduced Apothecanna’s original products in 2009, and he invested a great deal of energy evolving perceptions of what cannabis products could be. Ah Warner, founder of Seattle-based

, agrees: “We had a prolific medical system in Washington, and even here, people didn’t buy in.” It took major educational efforts by pioneering topical companies to ensure that customers and retailers understood the viability of this modality and its potential for pain relief and healing. “So I really think the success we’ve seen now is built on the backs of early topical makers who did this education because we had to sell our products, we had to make people understand that this was a serious option for many ailments,” Warner concludes.

Recently, the topicals industry has profited from an increased curiosity in the medicinal properties of the cannabis plant on the part of mainstream consumers and among the more niche cannabis community. Dramatic changes in public perception of cannabis have made medical applications more accepted, and advances in plant science have opened the doors beyond the psychoactivity of cannabis and into its other vast potentials.

Trista Okel, founder of Oregon’s LAutre Chose L Autre Sandals Blue 4KCVxm
, also attributes some of the success of topicals to our increased understanding of the dangers of opiates. We have seen the destructive effects of their misuse, and it’s clear that we are in need of safer alternatives. Okel contends: “The federal government is cracking down on opiate use. We know more about the dangers surrounding opiates, all the damage to the body that those kinds of drugs do. So a nontoxic, non-psychoactive way to deal with pain and treat skin conditions, without negatively affecting the body, stressing organs, wreaking havoc on our kidneys and liver – people are hungry for that kind of treatment.”

If the attributes objects is an HTML/DOM/jQuery element Neiman Marcus Star Crystal Suede Sandal Nude pMyPim
is called before validating.

If there are no errors nothing is returned. Otherwise an object in this format is returned: {<attribute>: [<error>, <error>, ...]}

Since validators don't include the argument name in the error message the validate function prepends it for them. This behaviour can be disabled by setting the fullMessages option to false .

If you need an error not to be prefixed by the attribute add a leading ^ to the error and it won't be prepended. If you need to have a leading ^ but want the prefixing just write \^ .

If you include %{value} in the error message it will be replaced with the actual value. The value is transformed using validate.stringifyValue (which per default just calls validate.prettify ) but it can be overidden to customize the formatting.

If you want to customize how the attribute names are prettified you can either override the validate.prettify function or you can give a function as the prettify option.

There is also a format option. To see more details about this option see Roper Brianna Brown Cowboy Boots TTI24q
.

Even though none of the built in validators are async it is sometimes useful to have async validations. One example would be to check if a username is already used by asking the server.

Validate.js supports async validations through the validate.async function. It has the same signature as the regular validation function.

validate.async returns a 1State Floral Print Tie Front Shirt Dress Navy Yard KT3K1I
that is resolved if the validation passes and is rejected if the validation failed, passing the errors as the first argument. The errors has the same format as the errors from the regular validation function.

Besides accepting all options as the non async validation function it also accepts two additional options; cleanAttributes which, unless false , makes validate.async call Sarah Chofakian Panelled Pumps Goat Skin Blue 8DHbKqcm
before resolving the promise and wrapErrors which can be a function or constructor that will be called with the errors, options, attributes and constraints if an error occurs. This allows you to define a better way of catching validation errors.

If an Error is thrown from an async validator the argument passed to the rejection handler will be that error. This allows you to differentiate from coding errors and validation errors.

You can use the async validate function even if no validations are async, it still returns a promise. You can not, however, use the regular function with async validations.
